Just as you're about to follow them, you hear a growling noise down the other

You walk for a while, and come to a dead end
You look around frantically in the darkness

Suddenly, the beast jumps out at you!
It snarls at you defensively
You hear footsteps behind you, and think quickly
You reach into your satchel, and pull out your lantern
Scanning the area, you see a hidden path
Without thinking, you run down it
As you're running, you see a small hut
You run in and quickly slam the door behind you and lock it
You hear a beast start pacing around the hut. It seems confused
It's so dark
You shine a light
It seems to be a hunting den
There's a hunting vest hanging off the side of a trunk
Pick it up?
You slip on the hunting vest
It's suprisingly comfortable
You turn around to loud thumping on the door
Suddenly, the beast knocks the door down and lunges at you!
It snarls at you defensively
You decide to leave it be.

You walk towards it cautiously
You notice that it's the compass you dropped coming here

The cubs ran away while you were fighting

The beast smiles calmly at you and gestures for you to follow her
You follow her to her den, and see her cubs, sleeping soundly
She walks over to a deeper part of her cave, and comes back with a necklace
It's a rope necklace with a single claw hanging from the middle
She holds it out to you, and it glimmers in the light
Accept the gift?
You accept the gift, and she looks happy
You go back home, but every once in a while you go back to see her and her cubs
You politely decline, she looks mornfully at you
